1. Aries (The Ram) – Ares

The first sign of the zodiac, Aries, is ruled by the planet Mars. Ancient Greeks were amazed by the bright red color of this planet, and they attributed it to the powerful Greek God of war, Ares, who also was the child of Zeus and Hera. Ares is a representation of competition and masculine fire energy, similar to the current Zodiac’s Aries known for his fiery and powerful energy. Ares’ parents were two of the most powerful gods in Greek mythology, but his relationship with both was less than ideal. Known for his often chaotic behavior, and quick impulses, these characteristics also became associated with those born into his sign. These individuals are also known as strong leaders who need to be engaged in interesting and stimulating experiences in order to feel happy and fulfilled. The strength of the Greek sign Ares comes from action, and being an Ares you can make things happen and can accomplish whatever you set your mind to. This wonderful ability allows you to rise to leadership positions in your career and social circle of friends. While your mind is powerful, your balance comes from staying in your heart and drawing your wisdom from a place of love within. When acting on and following your heart, the wonderful things you can accomplish have no limits.

2. Taurus (The Bull) – Hestia

If your zodiac sign is Taurus, then you are also born within the Greek sign of the virgin Goddess Hestia, who reigns over the hearth and the home. She oversaw the world’s cooking of bread and the making of family meals. The first child of Kronos (Zeus’ father) and Rhea, Hestia was the goddess of the sacrificial flame and a portion of each sacrifice made to the gods by the Greeks went to her. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, and Mercury is actually named after the Greek winged messenger of the Gods Hermes. Able to move very fast across the skies, Hermes was also the God of communication, language, herds and flocks, and writing. His skill in communication is linked to the common traits of being social and talkative that come with being a Gemini. Hermes was Zeus’ personal messenger, and he also was the guide for those who had passed and were on their way to the underworld. Hermes share several similar qualities as Geminis, such as being witty, intelligent, resourceful, charming, and versatile. They also have the possibility of being sometimes judgmental and restless. Those of the sign of Hermes are blessed with creativity and a wonderful imagination, making them one of the most creative signs of all. They’re able to come up with witty and interesting things on the spot and can talk themselves through many situations where others may not be able to. Their ideas move to the next level when they visualize the dreams from within their hearts, and prioritize the creative ideas from their soul over money, approval, and the criticism of others. According to Greek mythology, Artemis was usually portrayed as a young maiden always carrying a hunting bow and arrows. The lore of Artemis says she was a virgin and afraid of men, so she chose to live in the woods and would only venture outside for walks during the night. The signs of Artemis and Cancer both share modesty, being shy, and having a tendency to sometimes be highly emotional with things they care about.
