What is the Age of Aquarius?

The 2020-2021 Aquarian era has come about because of the 'great conjunct of December 2020', according to Inbaal. "Jupiter and Saturn are two large planets in our solar system, which govern similar yet opposite aspects of large concepts," she says. "Jupiter is a planet of expansion, growth and generosity. Saturn is a planet of structure, discipline and hard work. They're both planets that help us move forward, and influence governance and whole generational shifts, but each in a very different way." "On December 21, 2020, both these very impressive planets met in Aquarius, a sign which effects human rights, LGBTQIA+ acceptance and humanitarian efforts. This had not happened for 800 years, and so was very significant." Not to be confused by the Age of Aquarius which was said to have dawned during the hippy era in the 1960s, marking the advent of the New Age, alternative religions and popularisation of mysticism - that's another kettle of fish.

How will the Age of Aquarius affect us?

Speaking of the December 2020 shift, Inbaal reflects on the things the world has seen since. "It was, and is a time of big changes in governments and world leadership, environmentalism and advancing racial justice and equality," she says. "Both of those planets are still in Aquarius (Jupiter popped out and came back in again) until the end of the year. It's a great opportunity for us to protest injustice and gather support for social causes." She adds: "Aquarius is associated with progressive thought, new ideas and shifts of entire societal structures. The advent of technology, the acceptance of new genders and the attempt at righting historical wrongs is very Aquarian. As are technological advancements, from space travel and even social media."
