He and Artemis were hunting partners. Orion was a great hunter who had boasted that he could kill any animal on Earth. Gaia (Earth) was angry with Orion and sent Scorpius, a giant scorpion to kill him. The two fought and both were killed in the struggle, but from their ashes, rose the constellations Scorpius and Orion.
