Spiritual manifesting is a practice that uses the awareness that every 'I' is also part of a 'we' and that when we connect with this unified field in a conscious and directed manner, you change the world.”

The hashtag alone has videos with over 5.2 billion views on TikTok, with creators and members of the Witchtok community (a group of people who practice values aligned with witchcraft) teaching others how to manifest, or giving examples of how exactly it all works. Spiritual manifesting is when you're flowing, not forcing. It's different from goal-setting, because it's like you're co-creating with the universe. Scroll through your social channels and you’ll see everything from creators telling you how to visit someone in their dreams, to others doing tarot readings that revolve around manifestation — all with millions of views. Others suggest helpful tips and tricks for when you want to manifest as well as what not to do . But the simple fact is, manifestation is both more complicated and simple than you might think, depending on how you want to approach it and use it yourself in your daily life.

According to Michele Stans, Manifestology Coach and the author of 7 Steps to Manifesting Your Dream Life , “You must remember The Universe is not Santa Claus. It’s not that you make a list and poof! Things appear in your stocking. We call it co-creation for a reason. We are working together with the Universe. You need to do your part.” The most dangerous thing you can do is to stop wishing. Find your well of desire and create from there. On a more basic level Stans also says that meditation is a huge part of manifestation. “I meditate every single day whether I want to or not. It’s a non-negotiable for me since it is my way to stay connected to Source energy and listen when I need to hear next steps, sometimes inspired action ideas come that way.” “The key to manifesting is surrender,” explains Dr. Deganit Nuur. “It works best when you're completely unattached to the outcome. So, I want this, but I'm fine if I don't get it. Most people that want something start to obsess over it and kind of give their power away to it, which is inevitably pushing the thing further away from them.” Adds Day, “The most dangerous thing you can do is to stop wishing. Find your well of desire and create from there. Go for your big wish and then contextualize everything that happens using your wish as the organizing element. If you have a set back, what can this teach you now about manifesting your wish? Experiences have the purpose you give them and purpose is one of the most powerful indicators of everything from happiness to longevity. I always tell my students to assume that everything is good luck and use it as such.” Kristen Bateman is a writer and creative consultant based in New York.
