There's reportedly no confirmed date in which numerology began, but the oldest practice, called Chaldean numerology, dates back to about 3000 B.C.E., developed in what is now Iraq. In the early 2000s, according to TODAY's resident astrologist Lisa Stardust, author Doreen Virtue published the first known book on angel numbers, coining the now popular term.

Is it always communication through angels or can it be loved ones?

There are differing beliefs surrounding from where the messages associated with angel numbers come. For many spiritual practitioners, angel numbers likely appear from your "spiritual team," such as angels, guides and even a "higher version" of yourself. License plates, price tags, addresses and phone numbers are also common places to spot these patterns. As Wilder said, angel numbers can also be seen in sequences of events that appear to happen in a recognizable pattern.

If you see 111 or any sequence of 1's, it could be a sign that new opportunities are on the way or that this is the start of a new beginning. It's likely a sign to trust what's happening in your life and recent ideas you've been having. You can use the Unique Number Shared by Multiple Entities query to uncover entities that share the same unique number. The query counts a unique number for a single entity only once, regardless of how many identity records for that entity contain the same unique number.

What next?

In the Identity Insight plug-in for i2 or the Explorer application, use the Find by Attribute screen to look up each number returned by the Unique Numbers Shared by Multiple Entities SQL query. In the Results pane, review the entity information for each entity that shares the unique number. You can also review the entity resumes of these entities to help determine why the entities share the same unique number. You might discover interesting relationships between entities, based on the unique number. For example, you could discover that two different entities are using the same Social Security Number. Or you might detect an issue with the UMF coding for unique numbers. For example, you could discover that the same passport number is shared between two entities, because the incoming UMF identity record did not use NUM_LOC to indicate the country (location) issuing the passport number. Numbers like passports and drivers licenses are only unique to a particular location, such as country or state. In themselves, these numbers might not be as unique as you think.
